Canoeing (disability)

28 July :9:30 am - 3:30 pm

This activity is for young people in Moray aged 8 to 18 years who have a disability which has meant they haven’t had the opportunity to participate in outdoor learning and adventure due to complex access requirements. The young people need to be able to manage stairs with support and walk distances of up to 2km and the sessions are available to siblings, who are young carers, to participate alongside.

Where the craft specified does not support the disability, we sill substitute for a suitable craft and we have a selection of aids that can be used to assist the young person with holding paddles, plus supported seating.

Canoeing is an activity which involves paddling a canoe with a single-bladed paddle but we make it so much more than that. Participants will spend time on the water with us, learning new skills and enjoying being in the outdoors. We have all the kit needed for a great day of adventure; all they need to bring is enthusiasm and a towel; just in case!
