This GoMTB course is a fantastic opportunity for any young riders who want to develop their skills and experience in off-road riding. It is suitable for those learning basic bike handling skills to riding long technical routes with advanced features.

Participants will be working towards level GoMTB level 1 and will:

  • develop an awareness of safety
  • develop basic mountain bike skills
  • develop specific mountain bike skills
  • ride safely with concern for other users and the environment
  • be suitably clothed and equipped for the situation
  • become independent and continue to mountain bike as a sustainable and healthy activity.

It is vital that participants reach the required standard to take part in this course and must be able to:

  • to start and stop without assistance
  • make the bike go where they want it to
  • stop in control
  • manoeuvre obstacles

Date: 5th & 6th April
Time: 10am to 3.30pm

Meeting point: Roseisle woods car park

Cost: £40 per person (for both sessions)

Spaces are limited to SIX and available young people aged 8 – 17

Please note: These GoMTB sessions aim to complete as much of the course as possible, but sometimes it is not possible as the participant has not quite acquired the skills and needs to practise further. If this is the case, the participant can book another GoMTB session of the same level and complete the award.  If you have any questions, please email.

We will provide all the necessary equipment, including a bike if required, but please make sure the participants are appropriately dressed in suitable, warm clothing, is wearing appropriate footwear for riding a bike and has the following with them:

  • Backpack (can be provided)
  • Packed lunch
  • Water bottle

Participants wishing to bring their own bikes may do so, but it must be in good working order, with gears and brakes fit for purpose.  Our instructor will do a basic safety check and, if the bike is deemed unsuitable, a bike will be provided.

Attendance will be consistent with the advice from the Scottish Government regarding COVID-19  Any participants or household members MUST NOT be displaying any known COVID-19 symptoms. Outfit Moray will follow Scottish Government guidelines to ensure the risk of community transmission of COVID-19 is as low as reasonably practical.
